The Wonder Years / All Or Nothing - Distances 7"
From the release of their first full-length, up until The Upsides came out and every little mosh metalcore pussy pop mixed with pop-punk kid started hanging from their nuts, I was a proud fan of The Wonder Years. When I first heard this split, The Wonder Years songs sounded bland and seemed to almost bore me to death. And then I heard the All or Nothing side. What I heard when I listened to their side was a nice combination of influence-elements. The huge hardcore reminiscent guitar riff at the very start, the melodic dual vocals similar in style to the likes of Latterman or Tell All Your Friends-era Taking Back Sunday. It all fits and is a strong set of songs likely to keep you stoked on the genre. Only bummer is while the digital version comes with three All or Nothing songs, the 3rd is omitted from the vinyl. Not enough space on the wax I guess. Unfortunate, considering I like track 3 of the AoN songs more than track 2.
The Wonder Years songs from the 7" would eventually grow on me, and become my two favorite songs from their entire catalog. This is a staple in today's group of recent pop-punk records.
I pre-ordered the most limited color version of the 7", which I believe was clear with red spatter or something like that, out of something like 200. I instead received the blue version, out of 400. I was going to bitch and try to get them to swap me the color I actually ordered, but by the time the label had the records sent out, the pressing was sold out. At least I got to snag a copy at all! And the blue color would turn out rewarding, going with the tradition of being one of my favorite recent pop-punk albums, and being blue.

Fireworks - All I Have to Offer Is My Own Confusion 12"
This is one of my favorite releases from the year 2009. Run For Cover Records must've been running short on $ or something, causing them to sell packages of all 3 colors of this with all the different colors of Title Fight's "The Last Thing You Forget" together for pretty much the price of the LPs + shipping, with an EXTRA incentive, including a test press of the Fireworks LP in one random package order. I already had the /50 tour version of it, so I jumped at the chance at having a full collection of it, plus maybe I'd be able to flip the Title Fight shit =P
It was a hassle making sure I actually received this. It took months and months of trying to get in contact with Run For Cover to get this shipped out to me after not seeing shit for too long after I paid for it. But I eventually got it, so no complaints here. And they threw in the Agent 7" for the trouble.
Alas, I ended up not getting the test press, so my desire in pursuing Fireworks records ceased. I already sold my tour copy to an avid Fireworks collector. I'm willing to sell my black and white copies of this, but will be keeping the blue for obvious reasons.

Man Overboard - Before We Met: A Collection Of Old Songs 12"
Another band I checked out before S&F '10. Their entire discography is awesome in my opinion. Here is their LP that contains a collection of re-recorded old songs and some (at the time of release) new songs. After I got this, I realized that a lot of the pop-punk LP's I get have a habit of being on blue vinyl. A sensible theme, blue is a soft color. I'm sure you may come to see how this blue thing is true as I post more.
